Murphy rules
Human beings have a tendency to be humble. The belief that "me" or "my company" will never have
an accident can be a major problem when individuals or organizations need to look at human factors
issues, identify risks, and implement improvements. Attempts are made to explain, not just 'lip service' the human factors.
"Murphy's Law" says:
"If something can go wrong, it will happen.
This can help dispel the "this will never happen to me" belief that many people take lightly. And it is not true that accidents only happen to people who are 'irresponsible' or 'idiots'.
